A desperate struggle to stay productive is what this is. Click for full-sized versions.
Sunday, 14th of March
Photoshop, 30 minutes.
Nominated for general bad-assery. Tarantino's films are slick to the core.
I've been always interested in typography, and a desire to create kinetic typography sprung up a few days ago. Being the sloth that I am, a compromise was reached with myself to create a simple piece (which is hardly animated).
I am now slightly pleased.
Monday, 15th of March
Pen, paper, Photoshop, 2 hours
I call this... The Manchuroll. (Well, not really.)
The original idea I had for today's wallpaper was on yet another Tarantino film, Reservoir Dogs. It involved solid colours and Helvetica which didn't turn out great. Dry on ideas, I turned to a sketch I had languishing around for months and coloured it, Manchupunk style.
I'm not entirely pleased with this.
Tuesday, 16th of March
Photoshop, 45 minutes
Nobody likes waiting for the bus. After work, it's hot and humid like a tropical version of Hell. The smell of sulphur lingers in the air, threatening to snuff all life out. You see the bus pass you by, carrying with it your hopes for a pleasant evening. Then you curse at the world, and (im)patiently while your time away counting flowers on the wall.
As usual, the first piece I put together had the aesthetics of an obese ballerina. This second attempt was conjured up through much self-deceit and coercion, and the result pretty much shows what it's made of.
Pleased? Please.
Wednesday, 17th of March
Photoshop, 15 minutes
Welcome to my NS life: this is the scene I will be seeing every working day until I ORD.
I question: Is it keeping me in, or keeping others out?
The answer: It's a little of both.
Thursday, 18th of March
Photoshop, 30 minutes
Everybody was... Kung-Fu fighting!
The inclination to model something 3D for today's wallpaper evaporated with Blender and its learning curve. Screw that.
Why I have this fascination with the film grain filter in Photoshop is a mystery; nobody will ever know the reason.
I'm beginning to enjoy this exercise in futility.
Saturday, 20th of March
So, the streak ended yesterday when fatigue overcame me. It's been fun - perhaps I'll do this again some other time.
